Willie Davis, age 80, of Lily, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024. He leaves behind five children, Dennis Davis & wife Christine of Lancaster, KY, Rosa Sowders & husband Bob of East Bernstadt, KY, Dottie Parker & husband Donnie of Dover, TN, Vicki Davis & wife Tabitha of London, KY, Billy Hayre of London, KY; his sister, Mildred Fulkerson of Charleston, IN; four grandchildren, Travis Davis, Mark Anthony Baird, Kristen Davis, Logan Hayre; three great grandchildren, Trevelyn Davis, Tristyn Davis, Mollie Tidwell; one great, great granddaughter, Marceline Davis; his best friend, Sarah Davis; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve & Rosie Oslonion Davis; and by six siblings, John Gilbert Jones, Bobby Jones, Denver “Pip” Davis, Elmer Davis, Edith Montgomery, Darlene Lunsford. After a long career as an equipment operator for Bullock's, Willie retired to spend his days doing what he loved most—hunting and working with his dogs. An avid squirrel and coon hunter, Willie found joy in the quiet of the woods, the thrill of the hunt, and the special bond he shared with his loyal hunting dogs. He had a remarkable skill for training them, taking great pride in their abilities and companionship on every hunt. His love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him, and the countless hours spent in the woods were where he felt most at home. Willie’s passion for life, his dedication to his work, and his love for hunting will be fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, deep friendships, and cherished moments spent in the wild. May his memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Funeral services for Willie Davis will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Johnny Schell and Keith Carr officiating. Burial will follow at Davis Duncil Sowders Cemetery in East Bernstadt, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 13, 2024 beginning at 6:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
