Sheila Thomas Allen, age 55, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024. She leaves behind her husband, Milford Allen Jr; her mother, Jewel Dean Wagers Thomas; three children, Chris Grady & wife Abbey of London, KY, Brittany Price & husband Michael of Chase City, VA, Danielle Clontz of London, KY; three siblings, Melissa Young & husband Tim of London, KY, Arville Thomas Jr. of London, KY, Roger Thomas of Somerset, KY; six grandchildren, Mollie Clontz, Maddie Wynn, Kennedy Baker, Sophie Grady, River Grady, Noah Radke; three stepchildren, Crystal Radke, Mark Jeffrey Allen, James Allen; those she loved as her own children, Jannan Bowling, Rocco Bowling and Brittany Mullins; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her father, Arville Thomas. Sheila was deeply involved in serving others, particularly through cooking and cleaning; she took on the majority of the cooking responsibilities for every holiday. She was incredibly dedicated to her family and their well-being, ensuring that every gathering was filled with warmth, delicious food, and cherished memories. Her contributions undoubtedly made a significant impact in the lives of those around her, and she will be remembered fondly for her selflessness and generosity. Sheila found solace and inspiration in the beauty of the natural world from an early age. She held a deep affection for the tranquil moments of dawn and dusk, finding peace and serenity in the breathtaking views of sunrise and sunset. She loved flowers, and found joy in working in them. One of her greatest joys was spending time by the water's edge. Sheila’s favorite places were Laurel Lake, Rockcastle River or at any beach with her family where she found respite and tranquility in the gentle embrace of nature. Every moment spent with her loved ones will be cherished and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services for Sheila Thomas Allen will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Carpenter & Bro. Chris Stanley officiating. Burial will follow at Phelps Cemetery in Cleft Rock, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 29, 2024 beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
