Sallie D. McCracken

Sallie D. McCracken, age 79 of London, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026. She leaves behind three children, Kathy McCracken May & husband Terry, Heather M. Creech & husband Kelly, Allison McCracken, all of London, KY; two siblings, Carol Daniels of Las Vegas, NV, Cindy Martin of Concord, AR; five grandchildren, Josh Westerfield (Tammy), Taylor Jade Shell, Jacob Taylor (Chelsea), Ella Taylor (Chance), Chase Creech; six great grandchildren, Copelyn Taylor, Braydon May, Alexis Ward, Kaitlyn May, Dalton May, Taryn May; her nieces and nephews, Anne Long (Jimmy), Alexis Brett, Jay Brett; her special friend, Carl Perkins, plus a host of other family and friends to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Daniels and Evelyn Banks Daniels. Sallie was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend who leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and love for others. She dedicated many years of service as a teacher’s assistant with the Corbin Independent School District before her retirement, where she touched the lives of students and coworkers alike with her warm spirit and caring heart. Sallie dearly loved her family and treasured every moment spent with them. She found great joy in the simple blessings of life—tending to her garden, gathering with friends at her bridge club, and feeding and watching the birds that visited her yard each day. Known for her wonderful sense of humor, Sallie could brighten a room and make others feel at ease. Her faith was an important part of her life. Sallie loved the Lord and greatly enjoyed watching the weekly online services from The Creek Church, which brought her encouragement and comfort. She had a true servant’s heart and was always ready to help someone in need. Sallie was known for her generosity, whether through kind acts, thoughtful gestures, or even leaving a generous tip to show appreciation. She had a deep love for animals and cared for them with the same compassion she showed to people. Above all, Sallie will be remembered as a loving caregiver and devoted mother whose kindness and selfless nature made a lasting difference in the lives of those who knew her. Her memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. A memorial service honoring Sallie D. McCracken will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 28, 2026 beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the service hour, also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
