Rudy D. Hernandez, age 79, of London, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. He leaves behind his loving wife, Rosina Donahue Hernandez; Mavis Huff Johnson, the mother of his children; seven children, Rudy D. Hernandez Jr. & wife Mary L. of Louisville, KY, Michael J. Hernandez (Joanna Halcomb) of Calhoun, GA, Cindy M. Coscia & her significant other Leland Slaven Jr. of London, KY, Christopher W. Hernandez & wife Christy of Lexington, KY; Matthew R. Hernandez of Paducah, KY, Rosie Howland Laborin & wife Kelsey Howland Laborin of Minneapolis, MN, Andy Laborin of Tuscan, AZ; eight siblings, Edward Hernandez & wife Gayle of Modesto, CA, Philip Hernandez of Los Angeles, CA, Gerald Hernandez (Margret) of Beaverton, OR, Glen Hernandez & wife Nellie of Scottsdale, AZ, Cecilia “Pinky” Burgos & husband Don Wright of Lincoln Park, MI, Alleen Earley & husband Larry of Bisbee, AZ, Cynthia Wirt of Scottsdale, AZ, Betty Spencer of Pomona, CA; seven grandchildren, Heather Blankenship & Curtis, Haley Eversole, Keenan Hernandez & Madi, Sarah Hernandez, Elisabeth Hernadez, Landry Hernandez, Santiago Laborin; five great grandchildren, Ethan Duff, Emmie Mills, Evann Blankenship, Christian Eversole, Kincer Eversole, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Hernandez and Mary Olivia Gutierrez Hernandez; his brother, Alferd Hernandez; an infant sister, Linda. Rudy was retired from the United States Air Force where he served for 23 years of active duty and retired as a Technical Sergeant in 1982. Rudy received the Joint Service Commendation Medal for his exemplary service during the Vietnam War. He spent five years working Civil Service Duty. He was also employed as an evidence officer for the Cochise Co. Sheriff Dept. for more than 15 years. He was of the Catholic Faith and attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bisbee, AZ. Rudy was a proud democrat. He loved his country, his family and friends, and he enjoyed hunting, traveling and sports. His primary caregivers were Cindy and Lee. Special thanks to Tammy Satterfield and Haven Cochran. Rudy Hernandez will be interred at the Huff Family Cemetery in Roxanna, Kentucky. Services for Rudy will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Parkinson Foundation. The family has entrusted House Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
