Paul Huston

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Huston, age 89, of London, Kentucky on Saturday, November 30, 2024. A devoted family man, Paul found his greatest joy in loving his family, fishing, his faith, and the steadfast companionship of his beloved dog, Bud. Born on August 1, 1935 in London, Kentucky, Paul lived a life full of love and purpose. He shared 61 wonderful years of marriage with his cherished wife, Betty, who preceded him in death. They met at Hazel Green High School where they became sweethearts. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter and countless memories that will forever remain in the hearts of their children and grandchildren. Paul devoted his life to teaching, mentoring, and serving others. A retired school teacher having taught 27 years at Colony Elementary School, Paul touched countless young lives with his passion for education and his unwavering belief in the potential of every student. Beyond the classroom, he extended his commitment to the community as a bus driver and a beloved basketball coach, instilling teamwork, discipline, and resilience in his players. Paul proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. His time in service shaped his strong sense of duty, integrity, and love for his nation, qualities he carried with him throughout his life. Paul was an avid fisherman who found peace on the water and took great pleasure in sharing his passion with his family. A man of deep faith, he was a dedicated member of West London Baptist Church where he forged lasting friendships and found great comfort in his spiritual community. In his later years, his faithful dog, Bud, became his constant companion and best friend, a source of joy and unwavering loyalty. Paul will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind four children, Gary Huston & wife Carol of London, KY, Mike Huston of Tampa, FL, Cindy Bruner & Rob of Georgetown, KY, Jeff Huston of London, KY; one sister, Bernice Boggs of Statesville, NC; five grandchildren, Karman Bruner, Kelsey Bruner, Grant Bruner, Emily Huston, Dean Michael Huston; one great grandchild, Marlow J. Huston Bruner; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Betty J. Huston; his parents, Charlie & Jessie Huston; and by two siblings, Eula Mae Saylor, Brenna Gail Wilson. A funeral service honoring Paul Huston will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Bill Mays and John Tuttle officiating. Burial will follow at West London Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 6, 2024 beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be Grant Bruner, Dean Michael Huston, J. C. Bruner and Rob Whitley. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements
