Norma Sue Maxey

Norma Sue Maxey, age 81, of London, Kentucky passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024. She leaves behind her loving husband, Walter Ray Maxey; three children, Debbie Neal & husband William of London, KY, Ashley Rutledge of London, KY, Regan Rutledge & fiancé Adam of East Bernstadt, KY; one sister, Sherry Caudill & husband Jimmy of London, KY; two grandchildren, Heather Prewitt & husband Zac of Florence, KY, Travis Ranson & wife Christana of Pomaria, SC; seven great grandchildren, Avyanna, Lillian, Rylee, Harper, Colson, Maddox, Maddie Jo; her beloved dog, Lady; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Stella Cornelius; and by four siblings, Carelene Elderidge, Willa Dean Jones, Alla Lee Hoobler, Judy Cornelius. Norma had a fulfilling career as a secretary, having worked diligently until her retirement. She enjoyed her work and was admired for her organizational skills and warm demeanor. Norma had a zest for life and embraced her passions with enthusiasm. An avid traveler, Norma cherished exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. She found solace in nature and had a particular fondness for flowers and hunting, hobbies that brought her immense joy throughout her life. Above all, Norma cherished her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, a caring mother, and a doting grandmother to her grandchildren. Family gatherings were always special to Norma, and she treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. Norma was a woman of faith and a devoted member of the Baptist community. She found great comfort and guidance in reading her Bible regularly and took to heart its teachings. Norma Sue Maxey will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family will forever be remembered. Funeral services for Norma Sue Maxey will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Denny McCowan officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, Kentucky. The pallbearers will be William Neal, Adam Moore, Josh Maxey, Travis Ranson, Zac Prewitt, Michael Maxey. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 10, 2024 beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
