Naomi J. Conaway

Naomi J. Conaway, age 87, of London, Kentucky passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023. She leaves behind three children, Vicki Conaway, Robert Conaway Jr. & wife Mary, Mark Conaway; two grandchildren, Rebecca Conaway-Griffith & husband Stephen Griffith, Ryan Conaway & wife Jourdan; her adopted church family; plus, a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene Conaway Sr; her mother, Mabel A. Ranier; one sibling, Marilyn Hayes; her daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Conaway; her brother-in-law, Jim Hayes; her sisters-in-law, Mary L. Conaway, Dottie Loughran. Naomi was owner of Conaway’s Appliance Store along with her husband. She was an active member of the London Church of the Nazarene where she served as worship leader. She was a member of the Laurel County Homemaker’s Club. She was talented at needle point and won several awards for it. Naomi also volunteered at St. Joseph London in the gift shop and outpatient registration. She loved celebrating other’s birthdays. She was a prankster and enjoyed playing games; she was a Hand & Foot champion. She loved people, especially her family and the new babies coming, plus many other friends in her adopted families. Funeral services for Naomi Conaway will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene in London, Kentucky with Kyle Bargo officiating. A fellowship meal will follow. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 19, 2023 beginning at 4:00 p.m. until the funeral hour also at the church. The pallbearers will be Andrew Jefferson, Ryan Conaway, Stephen Griffith, Rodney Tipton, Rodney Cheek and David Gregory. Honorary pallbearers are Tim Smallwood, Bill Lynch and Doug Bargo. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Rest Memorial Estate in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Tiffany Fahringer-Underwood scholarship at the University of Kentucky CHS. Tiffany was a beloved member of the Conaway extended family who died suddenly in December 2021. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
