Louise Smith, age 85, of London, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026. She leaves behind four children, Marsha Bowling, Rosa Swafford & husband Arvil of Manchester, KY, Dewey Smith Jr. & wife Mattie of Annville, KY, Melissa Bowling & husband Lonnie of London, KY; nine grandchildren, Kelvin Bowling, Keith Bowling, David Bowling, Jennifer Roberts, Randy Bowling, Kayla Swafford (Harnes), Matthew Smith, Trevor Smith, Macy Bowling; seven siblings, Mae Roberts of Louisville, KY, Mildred Brock of Shepherdsville, KY, Dennis Hoskins & wife Patsy of Corydon, IN, James Hoskins of Hyden, KY, Mable Morgan & husband Kenneth of London, KY, Alene Collins of London, KY, Darrell Hoskins of London, KY; plus a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dewey Smith & Earl Harris; her parents, James (Jim) Hoskins & Martha Grigsby Hoskins; her stepmother, Sudie Hoskins; five siblings, Geneva Hoskins, Christina Hoskins, Wallace Dean Hoskins, Ernest Hoskins, Hazel Hoskins; and by her son-in-law, Roger Bowling. Louise dedicated her life to caring for her home and family, creating a place of warmth, comfort, and kindness for all who entered. She had a true gift for quilting, stitching together not only beautiful pieces but also cherished memories for those she loved. Her passion for flowers and gardening brought color and life to her surroundings, reflecting her gentle and nurturing spirit. More than anything, Louise loved her family. They were the center of her world, and she found her greatest joy in spending time with them, offering her unwavering love, support, and guidance. Louise will be remembered for her kind heart, her quiet strength, and the lasting beauty she created in both her home and the lives of those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to comfort and inspire her family for generations to come. A funeral service honoring Louise Smith will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Larry Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow at Rough Creek Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Thursday beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the service hour, also at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be Kelvin Bowling, David Bowling, Matthew Smith, Trevor Smith, Andrew Roberts, Peyton Roberts and Dalton Roberts. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
