Glenda Sue Smith, age 76, of Corbin, Kentucky passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024. She leaves behind four children, Paul Edward Smith & wife Wanda of Lily, KY, William Dillard Smtih of Laurel, KY, Joseph Wade Smith of Corbin, KY, Jimmy Lawson & wife Lynn; two grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Black & husband Nathan, Jessica Sue Smith & husband Brandon; eight great grandchildren, Kaylee, Zachary, Serenity, Audrey-Faye, Lucas, Wesley, Viola, Aubrey; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Smith Jr; her parents, Dillard & Eunice Smith Lockard; and by four siblings, T. J. Lockard, Gabel Lockard, Paul “Shorty” Lockard, and her infant twin sister. Glenda was a beloved homemaker and cherished member of the community. She spent her life dedicated to her family and the simple joys that brought her happiness. Glenda was a loving mother providing her children and grandchildren with warmth, care, and unwavering support throughout her life. One of Glenda's greatest pleasures was spending time with her family, whether it was cooking meals together or sharing stories on the porch. She found solace in the peaceful moments of everyday life, finding contentment in the beauty of nature and the company of her loved ones. Glenda looked forward to Sunday mornings where she would watch Binghamtown Church from the comfort of her home. Glenda will be remembered for her kind heart, her gentle spirit, and her unwavering dedication to those she held dear. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Funeral services for Glenda Sue Smith will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bradford Cemetery in Gray, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 19, 2024 beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour also at the funeral home.
