Earlene Deaton

Earlene Deaton, age 83, of London, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. She leaves behind her loving son, Randy Darrell Deaton & wife Gina; her grandson, Jonah Darrell Deaton; a special granddaughter, Sarah Messer; her brother, Norman Wyatt & wife Bonnie; her sister-in-law, Anne Hopper & husband Wayne; her nieces and nephews, Susan Adams & husband Glen, Tracy Eversole & husband Rodney, Todd Wyatt & wife Jamie; Bridgette Thornbury & husband Russ: Brooke Miller & husband Ben; her fur baby, Sophie; along with many great nieces & nephews and other family and friends to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Deaton; her parents, Fred & Verna Wyatt; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oscar & June Deaton; her sister, Sue McFadden; her brother-in-law, Caleb McFadden Jr; her niece, Robin Massey; and her beloved dog, Odie. Earlene was a loving, faithful, and generous woman whose life was a beautiful example of love, kindness, and devotion to the Lord and to her family. She was a woman who touched the lives of many through her gentle spirit, caring heart, and faithful service. Earlene retired from Cumberland Valley National Bank after 39 years of dedicated service, where she worked as a head teller. She truly enjoyed her work and especially cherished the many people she met throughout her years there. Her faith was an important part of who Earlene was. She was a faithful member of Shady Grove United Baptist Church for 62 years, where she served as Secretary for 50 years. She loved the Lord deeply and truly exemplified the Fruit of the Spirit through the way she lived her life—with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Above all else, Earlene loved her family. She was a loving, kind, and generous mother who thought her son and grandson hung the moon. Never has there been a son who was more loved than her Randy Darrell. She was so proud of them and treasured every moment she was able to spend with her family. She was also blessed with a special relationship with her daughter-in-law, who was not only family but also a dear friend to her. Earlene also had a special place in her heart for her beloved fur babies, Odie, who passed away, and Sofie. She enjoyed camping at Levi Jackson Park, especially when family and friends were camping nearby. She loved being outdoors and found great joy in working in her flower garden, planting and caring for her ferns and flowers. A talented and creative woman, Earlene enjoyed crafting and making things including crocheting. She liked to shop and had an appreciation for beautiful quilts and the time and care that went into making them. Earlene leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, service, and cherished memories. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she gave so freely will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Saint Joseph London, who took such good care of Earlene, especially Dr. Lohe and Dr. Abe who were her doctors for many years. A funeral service honoring Earlene Deaton will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Pastor David Smith and Roger Hayre officiating. Interment will follow at the Laurel River Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 15, 2026 beginning at 6:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
