Aletha Bryant

Aletha Bryant, age 78, of Mt. Vernon, Ky. departed this life peacefully Thursday, August 6, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born on March 14, 1948, in Harlan, Ky. A daughter of the late Henry and Hattie Burdine Parker. Aletha was a member of Bible Baptist Church and a graduate of Livingston High School; she was a faithful servant to the Lord. Aletha was a loving, caring, giving person to all, and the best wife, mom, and mammaw. She found great pleasure in attending her church, raising flowers, cooking, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. She was creative, owning her own floral shop, Aletha's Florist. On June 17th, 1967, she was united in marriage to Billy Wayne Bryant and from that union came a son: David and Scott. Those left to celebrate her life are her husband of 59years, Billy Wayne Bryant of Mt. Vernon; her sons: David (Tammy) Bryant of Brodhead, Ky, and Scott (Crystal) Bryant of London, Ky.; her grandchildren: Justin (Sarah), Michael, Hannah, Britton (Maddie), Blake and Hattie; her great grandchildren: Brianna, Creed, Syler and Mason. Her brothers: Wayne Parker (Freda), Bill Parker (Hazel), and Gary Parker (Judy). Special friends, Donna McClure, Barb Fain, along with all the church ladies. As well as a host of nieces/nephews, friends, neighbors and church family. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers: Kenneth, Charles, Bob and Don Parker; sisters: Louise Parker, Joyce Ledford and Lydia Helton. Visitation at will be held at the Bible Baptist Church 100 Higher Ground Ln, Mt Vernon, KY 40456, on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 6-9PM. With a funeral service to honor Aletha on, Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 1PM also at the church with Bro. Allen Dodson and Darren Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Red Hill Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made to: Bible Baptist Church or Bible Baptist Dominican Republic fund. Casket bearers are; Donnie Wayne Parker, Bryian Parker, Sonny Parker, Justin Parker, Britton Bryant, Michael Johnson, Blake Bryant. Honorary Casket Bearers are; Chad Baider, Roger Isaacs, Jerry Fain, Parker McPhetridge. The Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals is honored to serve the Aletha Bryant Family.
