Shirley A. Hurst

June 23, 1939 - April 29, 2022

Shirley A. Hurst, age 82, of London, Kentucky passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022. She leaves behind her loving husband of almost 63 years, Doug Hurst; her sisters-in-law, Sue Ann Taylor of Mooresville, IN, Gilberta Hurst of London, KY; her nephews and nieces, Tim & Angela Hurst of London, KY, Darrell & Grace Hurst of Williamsburg, KY, Angie & Roger Smith of Connersville, IN, Marlon & Kathi Hurst of Lexington, KY, David & Melissa Hurst of Lexington, KY, Lisa & Greg Hawkins of Mooresville, IN, Jan Hurst of London, KY; several great nephews and nieces, plus many other friends and family to mourn her passing, She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie & Elsie Gabbard Forman; an infant sister; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill & Faye Hurst, Leon & Wanda Hurst, Gene Hurst; her nephew, Jerry Hurst; her niece, Sheila Hurst. Shirley was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in London, KY. She retired having worked at IBM for a number of years and then alongside her husband in their many business adventures including Doug’s Reliable Motors. She was a faithful companion that loved her family. She enjoyed traveling and as a couple, Doug and Shirley loved to spend their winters together in Florida. Funeral services for Shirley A. Hurst will be held on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Jamie Maxey and Darrell Hurst officiating. Entombment will follow at the A. R. Dyche Memorial Park in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 1, 2022 beginning at 6:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
