Roger Wayne Allen (Brody), age 71, of London, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023. He leaves behind his loving wife of 25 years, Sandy Sulfridge Allen; three children, Ernie Allen & wife Brenda of London, KY, Ashley Owens & husband Jeremy of London, KY, Amy Whittington & husband Scott of Lexington, KY; six siblings, Brenda Evans of London, KY, Ronnie Allen & special friend Judy Reed of London, KY, Terry Allen & wife Debbie of London, KY, Jakie Allen & wife Sheila of East Bernstadt, KY, Craig Allen & wife Cami of California; his sister-in-law, Jean Woods Allen; six grandchildren, Blake Brewer & husband Jordan, Allison Bowling & husband Dawson, Nate Allen, Jace Owens, Mason Whittington, Bella Whittington; two great grandchildren, Jameson Wyatt Bowling & Navy James Brewer; plus, a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Page Allen; his parents, Ernest & Artie Jackson Allen; his son, Roger Dean Allen; and by his brother, Dale Allen. Roger worked for Laurel Construction Company for over 40 years. He was a member of Weaver Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was an avid UK basketball fan. Roger loved his family dearly, and they were the joy of his life. He loved making homemade ice cream for them, and he was famous for his banana ice cream. Roger loved the Lord, and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services for Roger Wayne Allen (Brody) will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Randy Philpot and Ronnie Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Bernard Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 14, 2023 beginning at 6:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be Paul Allen, Chuck Allen, Trevor Allen, Tyler Allen, Eric Allen, Jeremy Owens, Nate Allen and Jordan Brewer.
