Lida Mae Shannon Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lida Mae Shannon, age 80, of London, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. She leaves behind five children, Kenny Shannon & wife Sondra of East Bernstadt, KY, Michael Shannon & wife Shannon of Tyner, KY, Fred Lee Shannon & wife Cindy of London, KY, Tonya Sturgill of London, KY, Chad Shannon & wife Amy of Middlesboro, KY; two siblings, Royal Buckles, Barbara Waldroff; ten grandchildren, plus a host of great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, and other family and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Hazel Cochran Buckles; and by two siblings, Geneva Feltner, William Lee Buckles. Lida was retired from Flowers Bakery where she worked for over 20 years. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Annville, Kentucky. She was a dedicated mom of 5 who was a great short-order cook. She made the best French toast. Lida was the organizer of a big family reunion, and enjoyed helping lots of people. She was quite a character and very sleek. One time, she got pulled over for speeding, and told the officer that she was diabetic and had to get home to take her medicine and got out of the ticket. Lida enjoyed watching the Golden Girls, The Young and the Restless, and loved Cadillacs. Funeral services for Lida Mae Shannon will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Bro. Gene Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Moberly Cemetery in East Bernstadt, Kentucky. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 14, 2022 beginning at 6:00 p.m. and also on Friday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
