Leon Hurst

Leon Hurst, age 81, of London, Kentucky passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021. He leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Wanda Lee Whitaker Hurst; his son, Tim Hurst & wife Angela of London, KY; his daughter-in-law, Jan Hurst of London, KY; three siblings, Bill Hurst of Williamsburg, KY, Doug Hurst & wife Shirley of London, KY, Sue Ann Hurst Taylor of Mooresville, IN; his sister-in-law, Gilberta Hurst of London, KY; three grandchildren, Wesley Hurst, Gavin Hurst, Garrett Hurst, all of London, KY; plus, a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorsie and Minnie Wilson Hurst; two children, Jerry Lee Hurst and Shelia Kay Hurst; his brother, Gene Hurst; and his sister-in-law, Faye Hurst. Leon was a retired truck driver having worked for Kern’s Bakery for 46 years. He was a member of Lily Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services for Leon Hurst will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Pastor Wilmer Evans and Pastor Darrell Hurst officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 9, 2021 beginning at 6:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
