Dennie Wilson Shepherd

Dennie Wilson Shepherd, age 78, of London, Kentucky passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022. He leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Debra Whitledge Shepherd; six children, Michelle Diaz & husband Freddie, Greg Shepherd & girlfriend Jennifer, Jennifer Johnson & husband J.J., Bobby Shepherd & fiancé Amanda, Sadie Shepherd, Sophia Shepherd, all of London, KY; his bonus children, Marcela Meza, Kaylee Morgan, both of London, KY; four siblings, Charles Shepherd of Bledsoe, KY, Mattie Sparks of Bledsoe, KY, Elsie Pennington of Tennessee, Lena Howe of Illinois; twelve grandchildren; three special dogs, Sophie the Border Collie, Cody “Legs” the Chihuahua, Tyson the Yorkie mix, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lucy Burns Shepherd; his daughter, Beth Colley Pennington; and by six siblings, Annie Wilder, William “Billy” Shepherd, O’dell “Dan” Shepherd, Ida Estridge, Clyde Shepherd, Melvin Shepherd. Dennie was a retired coal miner and foreman. He also served our country in the United States Army. He was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Grace Abounding Full Gospel Missions and Pittsburg Holiness Church. Dennie found joy in helping his family with home projects and vehicle issues. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do with his hands. He could always be found tinkering with things in his garage or outbuildings. He enjoyed yard sales and loved cruises. Funeral services for Dennie Wilson Shepherd will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Abounding Full Gospel Missions with Chris Stanley officiating. Burial will follow at Whitts Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 3, 2022 beginning at 5:00 p.m. also at the church. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
