Wendell (Wahwee) Benge, age 65, of London, Kentucky passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024. He leaves behind his loving wife, Lisa Benge; three children, Corey Benge & wife Farra, Jamey Creech & wife Elaina, Stephanie Creech; three siblings, Vernon (Doc) Benge, Lucy Benge, Reva Males; seven grandchildren, Alijah Sears, Danielle Creech, Cadence Sears, Alivia Creech, Ben Young, Piper Whitehill, Ella Whitehill; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert & Ida Mae Hammons Benge; and by three siblings, Claude Benge, Glenn (Potsy) Benge, Randall Benge. Wendell spent his professional years in the logging industry, where he dedicated himself to hard work and excellence. Upon retirement, he reflected on a career filled with challenges and triumphs, leaving a mark of integrity and dedication in his field. In his leisure time, Wendell found joy in simple pleasures. He had a passion for horseback riding and found tranquility in the great outdoors through camping adventures. Wendell embraced life with a zest for exploration and a spirit of adventure that inspired those around him. Above all, Wendell held a profound love for his family. His devotion to his wife, children, and grandchildren was immeasurable. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with them, showering them with affection and wisdom in his own special way. Wendell (Wahwee) Benge will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, humor, and gentle spirit will forever be remembered and treasured. Funeral services honoring Wendell (Wahwee) Benge will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Wayne House, Ronnie Hale and Roger Bowling officiating. Burial will follow at the Hale Family Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The pallbearers will be Larry Neeley, Dylan Canada, Steve Hess, Charlie New, Randall Allen and Tim Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Alijah Sears and Ben Young. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 25, 2024 beginning at 6:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
