Teresa Day

Teresa Day, age 67, of London, Kentucky passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024. She leaves behind three children, Zana Day of London, KY, Abe Abdollahi & wife Kelsey of Somerset, KY, Maverick Bishop of London, KY; one granddaughter, Lydia Poynter; four siblings, Chris Day, Jackie Noe, Phyllis Miller, Ronnie Day all of London, KY; plus, a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren Day & Mildred Robinson Day. Teresa put a tremendous amount of love into the world. Art is a form of love. Love is a form of art. Teresa’s beautiful life is abundant in both. Her creative spirit lives on in the strength and love she poured into her community and her family. Her open heart and passion gifted us with an endearing mother, a proud grandmother, a close friend, a pillar, and a symbol of all that is good in the world. Her positivity was always uplifting and her talent made her unique and wise. There wasn’t a vision she couldn’t turn into a reality. It’s like magic. Remember her through her tremendous artistic talent and all the joy it continues to bring. From the beautiful stories she told through holiday window paintings, to whimsical murals that graced the walls in homes and businesses across the community, to her stunning ornaments, beautifully unique paintings, and elegant handwrought copper jewelry. Teresa’s gifts will continue to shine. She wasn't just a mom to three kids; she was a mom to all of her children’s friends as well. Their favorite nickname for her was Mother Teresa. She would feed you without a second thought and could take care of a group of kids all by herself. She would listen to your problems and try to help the best she could. No matter what happened to her through her life, she never gave up. She truly was a beautifully talented person who wanted to be remembered for the sheer love she shared through her art and her kindness. She was a pillar of the community in London, KY. Volunteering to help teach art classes at the London Community Center, to working with Home Helpers, where she provided selfless care for those in need and their families. Teresa’s life will burn as an eternal spark of creativity, loyalty, compassion and love. Every piece she has left here for us is a treasure. The family welcomes the public to a visitation on Friday, October 18, 2024, starting at 5:00 p.m. A celebration of Teresa Day's life will take place at 6:00 p.m. both in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home, followed by a time for sharing memories and stories, where you are encouraged to share your own as well. Friends, family, and the public are invited to bring any of her artwork to the funeral home to be displayed during the service. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
