Roscoe Keith Bruner

Roscoe Keith Bruner of Middlesboro, Kentucky, a devoted community servant and beloved family man, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the age of 84. He leaves behind his loving wife, Margaret Lee Bruner; four children, Rocky Lee Bruner of Martinsburg, WV, Bronwyn Marsee of Middlesboro, KY, Robyn Saragas & husband Greg of Knoxville, TN, Tracy Hightower & husband Andy of Annapolis, MD; eight siblings, June Reams & husband Jim of London, KY, Jan Binder of London, KY, Carol Myermingos of Franklin, TN, C. L. Bruner & wife Shirley of London, KY, Marilyn Stogsdill of London, KY, Larry Bruner & wife Brenda of London, KY, Roger Bruner & wife Fern of London, KY, Mike Bruner & wife Susie of London, KY; twelve grandchildren, Dakoda Buner, Kelsey Bruner, Devin Bruner, Rocky Lee Bruner II, Anna Burton, Andrew Hightower, Gabe Hightower, Ranger Hightower, Cooper Hightower, Sawyer Hightower, Alexx Saragas, Maxx Saragas; two great grandchildren, Kenzley Jace Bruner, Hadley Moran Coronda; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe & Thenia Jones Bruner; and by two siblings, Eunice Colleen Bruner Fields, Juanita Pearl Saladino. Born with a strong sense of duty and a passion for helping others, Roscoe dedicated his life to serving his country and community. A proud veteran, Roscoe served 28 years in the United States Marine Corps, including active duty in Vietnam, where he was honored with two Purple Hearts for his bravery and sacrifice. His commitment to service extended beyond the military, leading him to a distinguished career in Social Services, where he worked tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of others. Roscoe’s heart was always with the youth in his community. He was actively involved in mentoring and supporting young people, guiding them toward bright futures. His love for sports was evident in his role as an official for local football and baseball games, where he brought fairness, camaraderie, and encouragement to each game. Roscoe cherished every moment spent with family and friends, visiting often and creating lasting memories. His kindness, integrity, and unwavering dedication will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Funeral services for Roscoe Keith Bruner will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with C. L. Bruner and Roger Bruner officiating. Interment will follow at the Bruner Cemetery in London, Kentucky. Military honors will be provided by the local DAV Chapter 158 of Keavy, Kentucky. The pallbearers will be Terrance Bruner, Garett Bruner, Brian Bruner, Doug Fields, Greg Binder, Michael Bruner, Rocky Binder and Jason Goodman. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 11, 2024 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
