Roger Bowling

Roger Bowling, age 70, of London, Kentucky passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024. He leaves behind his wife Marsha Harris Bowling; four children, David Bowling & wife Brittany, Keith Bowling & wife Amanda, Kevin Bowling, Macy “Pumpkin” Bowling all of London, KY; three siblings, Billie Sue Harris of London, KY, Rolland Bowling & wife Wilma of Manchester, KY, Kara Bethany Moore of Hazard, KY; five grandchildren, Cory Vette Bowling, Rahlee Eldridge, Brentlee Eldridge, Aiden Fugate, Alex Fugate; plus, a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Bowling & Ella Collins Bowling; six siblings, Earnestine “Sis” Wooten, Christine Holter, Dennis Bowling, Kenneth Bowling, Vernon Bowling, Dallas Wayne Bowling. Known for his dedication and warm-hearted nature, Roger spent many years as a coal miner for Lee Co. Coal Company, where he became a valued friend and colleague to many. Roger could be found embracing his passion for the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing, and he had a deep admiration for classic cars and trucks, regularly attending car shows to connect and share in the memories they brought. Roger’s love for adventure also led him to spend countless hours four-wheeling through nature, reveling in the freedom and thrill of the wild. His enthusiasm for UK basketball was unwavering, cheering on the Wildcats season after season with pride. Roger’s life was one of integrity, passion, and an enduring connection to nature and community. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. His presence will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him. A Funeral service honoring Roger Bowling will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Roy Adams officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Hill Cemetery in London, KY. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the service hour, also at the funeral home.
