Rex George Taylor

Rex George Taylor was born on February 3, 1953 to the late Berton Rufus Taylor and Sally Mae Pittman Taylor. He leaves behind two daughters, Sue Ann Taylor of London, KY, Sandy Mae Pittman & husband Stephen of Burgin, KY; the mother of his children, Chyrl Faye Fields Taylor; two grandchildren, Brayden Lee Pittman, Brooklyn Kay Pittman; two sisters, Florence Patterson & husband William, Carolyn Goforth & husband Arvil; his brother, Harrison Taylor & wife Patty; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Judy Taylor, Julie Taylor, Denise Carroll, Jean Hoskins, Lynn Fields, Ella Fields, Boyd & Carolyn Fields, Goldie & Vernon Blanton, Ferrell Asher; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Taylor, Ronnie Taylor, Tex Taylor; his sisters-in-law, Alpha Brown, Florence Asher, Charlotte Fields, Vera Fields; his brothers-in-law, Marnell Hoskins, Denvis Fields, Willis Fields, Bud Brown; and by three unborn grandchildren. Rex worked many years in construction. There were many hobbies that he loved including hunting, fishing, shooting guns, gardening, and fixing anything with a motor. He was known for his sense of humor and considered his girls and grandchildren as his greatest blessings. Rex was a member of Blackwater United Baptist Church and the Mercer County Fish and Game Club. He often talked of going home to Heaven. On November 19, 2024, Rex entered into its Heavenly gates. His passing leaves great sadness and sorrow in the hearts of his family. But Rex is rejoicing with Jesus and reunited with his loved ones. Funeral services for Rex George Taylor will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Marty Nolan and Michael Hampton officiating. Interment will follow at Smith Cemetery in Blackwater, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 23, 2024 beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be Stephen Pittman, Brayden Pittman, Bascom Bailey, Neal Bailey, Iva Bailey and Lynn Fields. Honorary pallbearers are Harrison Taylor, Boyd Fields, William Patterson and Arvil Goforth. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
