Pearlie Lawson Proffitt, age 85, of Annville, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. She leaves behind four children, Sally Sherman & husband Joe of London, KY, Betty Ray of Corbin, KY, Bennie Kay Smith of London, KY, Aaron Dwayne Henson of London, KY; two adopted children; Roy Houston Lawson of Somerset, KY, Barbara Wagers of Manchester, KY; four siblings, June Smith of Hyden, KY, Doc Lawson of Hyden, KY, A. B. Lawson of Manchester, KY, Hazel Gray of Manchester, KY; plus a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren and other family and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Proffitt; her parents, Henry & Maggie Gray Lawson; her son, Carlo Henson; seven siblings, Arvis Lawson, James Lawson, Willie Lawson, Farris Lawson, Tommy Lawson, John Lawson, Mae Collins; five grandchildren, Mark Daniel Henson, Donnie Ray Lawson, Joshua Henson, Terry Henson, Ashley Lewis; and by her great grandson, Anthony Brown. Pearlie was a cherished mother, grandmother, and the heart of five generations. Pearlie’s life was a testament to kindness, care, and dedication to her loved ones and the world around her. A passionate gardener, Pearlie found joy in tending her flowers, especially her beloved roses, which brought beauty to her home and happiness to those around her. She was skilled in the traditional arts of sewing and canning, ensuring her family was always nurtured by her hands and heart. Pearlie's gentle spirit extended to everyone she met—she had a kind word, a warm smile, and an open heart for all. Her legacy of love and goodness will forever inspire her family and the many lives she touched. Her family finds comfort in knowing that her love, wisdom, and cherished memories will continue to bloom in their hearts for generations to come. A funeral service honoring Pearlie Lawson will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Robert Lockaby and Jerry Holland officiating. Burial will follow at A. R. Dyche Memorial Park in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 12, 2024 beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home.
