Melinda Ann Parker, age 50, of East Bernstadt, Kentucky passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024. She leaves behind her husband of 32 years, Joseph Parker; her father, Gerald Kirby; two children, Dewayne Parker & wife Shannon, Angie Dunaway, all of East Bernstadt, KY; four siblings, Patricia Napier & husband James of East Bernstadt, KY, Sherry Parker & husband Jerry of East Bernstadt, KY, Estill Kirby, Russell Kirby & wife Alene of Orlando, KY; five grandchildren, Shane, Blake & Austin Parker, Zeth & Hannah Dunaway, all of East Bernstadt, KY; six great grandchildren all of East Bernstadt, KY; a special nephew, Austin Kirby; two nieces, Christy Eaton & Ashley Brown; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Carol Kirby; her sister, Malenia Faye Jones; and by her biological parents, Thomas Edwin Jones & Brenda Faye Jones. For 17 years, Melinda dedicated herself to caring for animals as a vet tech at the London Veterinary Clinic. Her passion for animals was evident in every aspect of her work, and she brought comfort and healing to countless furry companions and their families. Her commitment to the well-being of animals was truly remarkable and served as an inspiration to all who knew her. Outside of her professional life, Melinda found solace and joy in the great outdoors. She enjoyed fishing, finding peace by the water's edge and reveling in the beauty of nature. Melinda's love extended beyond the animals she cared for to her own beloved fur babies, who held a special place in her heart. She showered them with affection and provided them with a loving home filled with warmth and happiness. One of Melinda's greatest joys was helping others. Whether it was lending a listening ear, offering a helping hand, or providing support in times of need, she touched the lives of many with her selflessness and generosity. Her willingness to go above and beyond for others made her a cherished friend and confidante to all who knew her. Melinda will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives she touched with her kindness and compassion. Funeral services for Melinda Ann Parker will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in East Bernstadt, Kentucky. The pallbearers will be Shane Parker, Blake Parker, Austin Parker, Zeth Dunaway, Austin Kirby and Harold Tincher. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 28, 2024 beginning at 12:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
