Judy Weaver Roberts

Judy Weaver Roberts, age 85, of London, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2026. She is survived by her children, Stephen Joseph Roberts and Heather Roberts Manning, as well as her grandchildren, Queentessa Elise Manning and J.Colt Roberts. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Weaver, and his wife, Teena Weaver, plus a host of other family and friends to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe T. Roberts, her parents, Carl & Queena Porter Weaver; and by two brothers, Drew Weaver and Gilbert Weaver. Judy attended Freedom Christian Fellowship. She graduated with a Bachelor of Education from EKU and was a retired teacher from the Laurel County School System. Social Butterfly: A friendly, outgoing person who thrives in social situations, easily moving from one group or conversation to another — much like a butterfly flitting between flowers. That was Judy Weaver Roberts. She was charismatic, popular — the life of any party. Her laughter was infectious. If you were in her presence, you would most assuredly have a good time. She never met a stranger and treated everyone with kindness. Just ask any one of her former students and they will tell you that she was their favorite teacher. Judy was beautiful. She always took great pride in her appearance and expressed her personality through her impeccable sense of style. She was a true fashionista. Elegant. Sophisticated. Classy. She was stylish on her own terms — exuding confidence — not afraid to flaunt her passion for fashion. For many years, Judy was Paperdolls’ “Star Model.” She loved starring in TV commercials and modeling for fashion segments on WLEX and WKYT. Her “gigs,” as she called them. She considered dressing up and doing lunch to be a perfect day. Judy loved to travel with her friends. Actually, she loved doing anything with her friends. She was always up for a road trip — wherever that might lead. She didn’t really care — she just loved to go. She would answer the phone, “Where we going?” You just had to learn to give her plenty of advance notice — she was notorious for always being late! The only trips she wasn’t interested in was antiquing with Joe — that was just not her idea of shopping! Judy was proud of her heritage- proud to be a Weaver. She was quick to tell strangers that it was her family that founded Weavers Restaurant- that it was her mother's recipe that made the chili so famous. Judy loved her family unconditionally — Joe, Heather, Stephen, Tessa, J. Colt. She always spoke of them with kindness and optimism and pride. She was fiercely loyal and protective of those she loved. If anything in her life was less than perfect, she would never have said so. If she were ever worried or stressed or sad, she bore it in silence, sharing with no one. She faced the world with bravado and always with that infectious laughter. Judy Weaver Roberts was a gift to the world. A character. A jewel. A treasure. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. A funeral service honoring Judy Weaver Roberts will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Jerry Lewis and Jeff Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at A. R. Dyche Memorial Park in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Thursday beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be Jeff Weaver, Judd Weaver, Wesley Lovins, Montgomery Whitis, Keith Begley, Maddox Begley, Tony Jones, and Wes Lyttle. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Weaver, Glenn Cobb, Shug Hall, Bruce Chestnut, Bob Berry, Myles Begley. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
