John Clayton Adams, 87, of Indianapolis, Indiana and formerly of London, Kentucky passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022. He leaves behind five children, Gene Adams & wife Tina of Hamilton, OH, Carol Kern & husband Doug of Corbin, KY, Barbara Reed of London, KY, John W. Adams of Corbin, KY, Shelaine Torongeau of Indianapolis, IN; his step-son; Tiger Burden & wife Connie of Indianapolis, IN; five siblings, June Overbey of Indianapolis, IN, and Carl Adams & wife Lucy, Elmon Adams, Sue Wilson & Dennis Taylor, Dean Adams & wife Faye, all of London, KY; his sister-in-law, Phyllis Adams; ten grandchildren, Heather Ripley & husband Mark, Kelli Booker & husband Jeremy, Tara McClellan & husband Damien, Crystal Messer, Sara Wolfe & husband Hunter, Brandi Valentine, Travis Sizemore, Johnna Adams, Nathan Taylor, Sly Moore; four step-grandchildren, Allison Keefer & husband Eric, Chelsea Letsche & husband Mike, Ashley Gauer & husband Anthony, Alex Burden; eleven great-grandchildren, Sara Epperson, Trey Adams, Lexi McClellan, Gavin McClellan, Abel McClellan, Brooklynne Messer, Mallory Messer, Hunter Wolfe Jr., Taylor Barnes, Aubrey Buckner, Destany Sizemore; ten step-great-grandchildren, Jacob Manning, Mary Manning, Clayton Burden, Wyatt Keefer, Merryn Keefer, Saleen Jackson, Summer Jackson, Axle Jackson, Haylee Gauer, Mathew Burden; three great-great grandchildren, Lillie Reynoso, Avery Hainline, Aiydyn Epperson, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Adams; his parents, Terry & Francis Root Adams; his son, John C. Adams; six siblings, Henry “Ross” Adams & wife June, Clarence Adams & wife Mary Jane, Leonard “Preacher” Adams & wife Ruby Lee, George Willie Adams, Randall Adams & wife Clara, Ezekias Adams; his brother-in-law, Troy Overbey; and by his sister-in-law, Betty Lou Adams. John was a proud self-employed plumbing and excavating contractor for over 50 years. John was a skilled UNO player and took great joy in his success. When he was not found bowling or hunting, he enjoyed spending time with his loving family. Funeral Services for John Clayton Adams will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022 in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Union United Baptist Church Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 15, 2022 beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
