Joel C. Morgan, age 71, of London, Kentucky passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024. He leaves behind his loving wife of 26 years, Connie Rader Morgan; two children, Traci LeAnn Degenhart & husband Ged of Andersonville, TN, Emilie Rae Smith & husband Jason of London, KY; two siblings, Barbara Cornett & husband Sammy of White Pine, TN, David Jay Morgan & wife Brenda of Belcher, KY; six grandchildren, Brice Degenhart, Ethan Degenhart, Gavin Degenhart, Emma Smith, Walker Joel Smith, Joseph Smith; nieces and nephews, Harper, Oakleigh, Maddox, Hudson, Lyndi, Megan, Amy, Abby, Julie, Zach, Austin, Jason, Blake, Ethan, Noah, Chase, Parker, Phoenix, Maddox, Chevy, Annabell, Caiden, Aryonna, Josh, Ashley, LeeAnn, Terry, Matthew, Brandon & wife Lana, Quentin & wife Brandy, Jimmy Joe, Brian, Keesha & Amberly; his mother-in-law, Frances Brown; his brother-in-law, Tim Rader; his sister-in-law, Sherry Ashcraft & husband Charles; special friends, Charles Ashcraft & Doug Wooton; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jahugh “Jakie” & Ruth Offenheiser Morgan; and by one sibling, Janet Renee Lewis. Joel, also known as Paps to everyone, worked at Flowers Bakery for 22 years, and he also served our country in the United States Army for 17 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and especially loved UK basketball. Joel loved to spend time with his friends and family, and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services for Joel C. Morgan will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Mack Lewis and Craig Melton officiating. Burial will follow at Harris Cemetery in London, Kentucky. Military honors will be provided by the local DAV Chapter 158 of Keavy, Kentucky. The pallbearers will be Jimmy Joe Morgan, Brandon Morgan, Quintin Morgan, David Jay Morgan, Jason Lewis, Brian Howard, Sammy Cornett & Charles Ashcraft. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 8, 2024 beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
