Frances Hyde

Frances Hyde, age 82, of East Bernstadt, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026. She leaves behind three children, Russell Hyde & wife Debbie of East Bernstadt, KY, Richard Hyde & wife Sherry of East Bernstadt, KY, Robert Hyde Jr. of Annville, KY; five siblings, Nellie Prossel of Corbin, KY, Marie Hyde & husband S.G. of East Bernstadt, KY, Stella Mae Smith of Manchester, KY, Donna Asher of Circle Pines, MN, Marvin Smith & wife Sandy of London, KY; six grandchildren, Lance Hyde, Kacee Smith & Justin, Rusty Hyde & Hillary, Kelli Hyde & Amber, Bradley Hyde & Tina, Jade Hyde & Bryce; five great grandchildren, Rylan, Kanden, Ryker, Xander, Ryan; plus two more on the way, Bentley Hyde Wilson, Sutton Taylor Hyde; her beloved ten-year-old Boston Terrier, Oliver; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 40 years, Robert Lee Hyde Sr; her parents, Marcus & Easter Jones Smith; and by two siblings, Edna Pearl Benge & Carl Junior Smith. Frances was a woman full of life, laughter, and strength who leaves behind a legacy of love and unforgettable memories. Frances worked at the camping area of Levi Jackson State Park, where she was known for her watchful eye and friendly presence. She had a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life and could often be found out thrifting, yard selling, peddling, or attending auctions—always on the hunt for a good find and a good story. A true lover of the outdoors, Frances found happiness in raising cattle, caring for her dogs, spending time by her pond, and fishing. She enjoyed working the land, whether it was bush hogging, mowing, or tending to her horses. Strong and independent, she was never afraid of hard work and lived life on her own terms. Frances was the heart of fun wherever she went—known as “the fun one,” she brought laughter and light to those around her. She had a love for cars and CB radios, where she was affectionately known as “Little White Dove,” while her beloved late husband was “Running Bear.” Together, they shared a beautiful and enduring love story that will be remembered by all who knew them. Above all, Frances dearly loved her family. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her spirited nature, her strength, and the joy she brought into so many lives. A funeral service honoring Frances Hyde will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with John Harris officiating. Interment will follow at the Smith-Jones Cemetery in East Bernstadt, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Monday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
