Eula Arthur, age 98, of London, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. She leaves behind four children, Joyce Baker of London, KY, Rickie Arthur of London, KY, Donnie Arthur & wife Robin of London, KY, Alonzo Arthur & wife Nannie of Harlan, KY; one sister, Pearl Clontz of London, KY; thirteen grandchildren, Rick Baker & wife Maria, Shana Caldwell & husband Joey, Brenda Elam, Daniel Hamilton & wife Bonita, Brian Engle, Melissa Arthur, Donavon Arthur & wife Betsy, Daniel Arthur, Josh Arthur, Whitley Cox & husband Dennis, Nathan Williams & wife Makenna, Malia Williams, Donia Watson & husband Mark; twenty-three great grandchildren, Donavan, Kevin, Danielle, Devin, Donavon, Elijah, Jeremiah, Christian, Miley, Kylie, Everleigh, Athena, Sophie, Lanie, Hannah, Tristan, Dillion, Caitlyn, Daniel C., Alec, Allyssa, Bobbie, Brittany; twelve great, great grandchildren, Charles C., Ariana, Anthony, Blaine, Kelan, Travis, Ella, Samantha, Joey, Austin, Nolan, Keirstien; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Arthur; her parents, Dan & Della Hinkle Smith; nine siblings, Velma Houston, Ethel Proffitt, Sammy Smith, Hazel Weaver, Juanita Smith, Delora Duggar, Carl Smith, Arnold Smith, Henry Lee Smith; and by her granddaughter, Patricia Woods. Eula had a profound love for the outdoors and found great joy in fishing and gardening. She spent countless hours tending to her garden, and her green thumb yielded an abundance of fresh produce which she lovingly canned. Eula's homemade preserves were a staple in her household, a testament to her dedication to self-sufficiency and her love for sharing the fruits of her labor with those she loved. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and comfort, where she delighted in cooking meals for her family. Eula’s culinary skills were unmatched, and her recipes will be treasured by her loved ones for generations to come. Above all, Eula adored her family. She was the heart of her home, always ready with a listening ear, a gentle hug, or a word of wisdom. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will live on through her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed attending church at High Top Baptist. Eula Arthur’s life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity and the joy found in everyday moments. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Funeral services for Eula Arthur will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Ronnie Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The pallbearers will be Donavon Arthur, Donavan Arthur, Devin Arthur, Josh Arthur, Kevin Estrada, Rick Baker, Daniel Hamilton and Daniel Arthur. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 3, 20234 beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
