Daisy Edna Black

Daisy Edna Black, aged 87, of London, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024, at Morning Pointe of Louisville Senior Living. Born in London, Kentucky, to William and Susan (Hamblin) Wilson, Daisy was the youngest sibling in a large and loving family. Her journey through life was marked by a profound faith in Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, which guided her every step and inspired those around her. Daisy was a beacon of love and devotion, not just to her immediate family but to all who knew her. She married Rothwell (Rocky) Black on October 25, 1958, and together they embarked on a life filled with love, challenges, and achievements. Rocky, her steadfast partner of 65 years, survives her. Daisy's legacy includes her three sons: Glenn Black (Zhaoying Zheng and their daughter Rong Huang), Gary Black (Jill Fisher), and Dale Black (Susan Kutter). Her joy was further multiplied by her cherished grandchildren, Nathan and Rachel Black, children of Dale and Susan. Daisy's life was enriched by numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Before retiring in 2002, Daisy contributed her talents and hard work to Farm Credit in London, Kentucky. Additionally, during their time in Illinois, Daisy worked with dedication at Farm Credit, serving the agricultural community before moving back to Kentucky. Her academic achievements were notable, with a graduation from Sue Bennett College in 1957 following her completion of studies at Bush High School in 1955. Daisy's life was a testament to her deep and abiding faith. She lived her beliefs, embodying the love and grace of Jesus Christ in her daily actions and interactions. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her dedication to prayer and serving others, traits that defined her character. After making their fortune and raising their family in Illinois, Daisy and Rocky returned to their Kentucky roots in 1986, where they enjoyed their retirement years surrounded by the landscapes and people they loved. In addition to her parents, Daisy was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Stanley, Elzy, Fred (who gave his life in military combat during WWII), Elmer, William Wilson, Jr., Harrison, Elsie (Wilson) Broughton, Sarah Wilson, Lou (Wilson) George, twins Layton and Clayton, who died in infancy, and Mary who also died in infancy. A service to celebrate Daisy's life and faith will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 at House-Rawlings Funeral Home, London Kentucky, with visitation at noon, funeral at 2:00PM, with interment to follow at Lickliter Cemetery. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to join them in remembering Daisy and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. Daisy Edna Black's life was a journey of love, faith, and profound belief. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
