Charlie Clontz

Charlie Clontz, age 54, passed away on April 8, 2025, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. He was a loving son, father, fiancé, brother, and friend, remembered for his kind heart and the deep love he had for his family and those close to him. Charlie is survived by his fiancée, Lisa Honeycutt, who stood faithfully by his side. He leaves behind his mother, Pearl Smith Clontz, and his father, William Harold “Sky” Clontz, who both survive him. Charlie was a proud and devoted father to Charles Daniel Clontz and his girlfriend Laura Glodo of Keavy, Kentucky; Christopher Dillon Clontz of Keavy, Kentucky; and Caitlyn Elam and her partner Dennis Johnson of London, Kentucky—whom he loved as his own daughter. His joy multiplied with his grandchildren: Ariana Sky Clontz and Blaine Clontz of Keavy, Kentucky, as well as Hudson Garvin and Kelan Johnson of London, Kentucky. He is also survived by his siblings: Debbie Johnson & husband Phil of Sellersburg, Indiana; Sherry Baker & husband Mark of London, Kentucky; Donna Neely & husband Lattie of London, Kentucky; Darrell Clontz & wife Erica of Indianapolis, Indiana; Teresa Clontz of Sellersburg, Indiana; Cindy Shell & partner Johnny Bowling of London, Kentucky; Jamie Clontz and Timmy Clontz, both of London, Kentucky; plus, a host of nieces and nephews of whom loved him dearly. Charlie was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Lee Clontz and Harold William Clontz. Charlie worked for 13 years as a Truck Driver MRA, for The Branch Group, and was a proud member of Sunshine Hill Baptist Church in London, Kentucky. He loved to ride motorcycles and work on vehicles with his boys, and he had a deep love for the outdoors—especially fishing and anything that let him be outside. He had a special bond with his dogs, his fiancée Lisa, and his "mommy," Pearl, who he loved more than anything. Charlie had the biggest heart and would do anything for anyone. He was set in his ways and stubborn as a mule—if he wanted something done, he’d make sure it happened, even if it meant doing it himself. Charlie treated every child like they were his own and built a legacy of love, generosity, and grit. There simply aren’t enough words to describe what a great man he was. He will be missed by many and loved by all. Funeral services honoring Charlie Clontz will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Ronnie “Zeke” Hale officiating. Interment will follow at the Clontz Family Cemetery on Bentley Road in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 PM on Sunday April 13, 2025 until the funeral hour. Pallbearers will be Daniel Clontz, Dillon Clontz, Robbie Clontz, Jeremy Wilson, and Andrew Hughes. Honorary pallbearers include Travis Sizemore and Donnie Arthur. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
