Cecil Charles Hyatt

Cecil Charles Hyatt, age 96, of London, KY passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022. He is survived by his two loving sons and daughters-in-law, Ron Hyatt and wife Conney of Frankfort, KY; Lonnie Hyatt and wife Shelly of Johnson City, TN; four grandchildren: Kimberly Hyatt Farmer and husband Tim of Ludowici, GA; Jason Hyatt and wife Tate of Frankfort, KY; Brittany Yancey and husband Jim of Bristol, TN; and Cassidy Hyatt of Johnson City, TN; five great-grandchildren: Ava and Landon Farmer, Levi Yancey, and Sawyer and Clark Hyatt. He is also survived by a loving sister-in-law, Louise Hyatt, and blessed with a host of other relatives, friends, and church family to celebrate his 96 years of life. He was preceded in death by June Hensley Hyatt, his loving wife of more than 60 years; his parents John Hyatt and Mary Bishop Hyatt; four brothers: Edward Hyatt, Lester Hyatt, Tollie Hyatt, and Howard Hyatt; two sisters: Edna Rice and Bertha Adams; and his second wife of 7 years, Lela Goldie Hyatt. Cecil Hyatt, PFC, was a decorated veteran of World War II who served his country with pride. Cecil served in the United States Army with the 744th Railway Operating Battalion in the European Theater from December 1943 through April 1946 and was awarded the EAME Theater Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, and Victory Medal from WWII. He loved the outdoors, camping, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he enjoyed participating in church activities and serving the Lord. Funeral services for Cecil Hyatt will be conducted on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Jamie Maxey officiating. Burial will follow at A.R. Dyche Memorial Park in London, Kentucky. Military honors will be provided by the local DAV Chapter 158 of Keavy, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Dennis Rice, Jason Hyatt, Tim Farmer, Jim Yancey, Terry Patrick, and Edward Hyatt. Honorary pallbearers are Landon Farmer, Levi Yancey, Sawyer Hyatt, and Clark Hyatt. Instrumental music will be provided by Ava Farmer. Family viewing will be at 12:00 pm with receiving of friends beginning at 1:00 pm until the funeral hour of 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at House-Rawlings Funeral Home.
