Betty Ray Henson, age 64, of Woodbine, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. She leaves behind three children, Regina Allen of London, KY, William Dale Lawson & wife Rachel of London, KY, Steven Dewayne Lawson of Woodbine, KY; six siblings, Sally Sherman & husband Joseph of London, KY, Bennie Kay Smith of London, KY, Eran Henson of London, KY, Richard Hoskins of Manchester, KY, Dale Henson of Manchester, KY, Gail Henson of Manchester, KY; eight grandchildren, Candace Brown, Tessa Allen, Jessie Steele, April Smith, Michael Lawson, Huston Stidham, Bryson Bullard, Colton Lewis; eleven great grandchildren, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale & Pearlie Lawson Proffitt; her son, Donnie Ray Lawson; her brother, Carlo Henson; and by one grandchild, Anthony Carl Brown. Betty was a devoted homemaker who will be remembered for her deep love of the outdoors and her passion for fishing, which brought her joy and serenity throughout her life. Betty cherished her family above all else. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family, especially at cherished family gatherings. Her warmth, laughter, and unwavering devotion created countless memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Betty’s legacy is one of love, togetherness, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered. A funeral service honoring Betty Ray Henson will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Robert Lockaby and Jerry Holland officiating. Burial will follow at the Henson/Lewis Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 12, 2024 beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home.
