Audrey (Jane) Sizemore

Audrey (Jane) Sizemore, age 97, of East Bernstadt, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026. She leaves behind three children, Ronnie Sizemore (Loretta), Janice Sizemore, Steve Sizemore (Polly), all of East Bernstadt, KY; five grandchildren, Amey Sizemore Pennington, Eric Sizemore (Rebecca), Jamey Sizemore (Crystal), Quinn Sizemore, Erin Sizemore (Mark),; three great grandchildren, Tyler Hamm (Katana), Jake Sizemore, Millie Jane Sizemore; one great, great granddaughter, Henley-Jane Hamm; a special thank you to her wonderful caregivers, Brenda, Lisa, Jessica, Hannah, Brooke, Shell, Rebecca Day, Nan; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ralph Sizemore; and by her mother, Gertrude Poff Jones. At 97 years young, Janie finished her race the same way she lived it—with faith, grace, and a little bit of sparkle. She was spunky in the very best way. Quick to laugh, quick with a clever remark, and never one to sit quietly if something needed saying. Her spirit stayed lively and bright through nearly a century of change, and she carried herself with a strength that was both gentle and unshakable. Her love for the Lord shaped everything about her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of East Bernstadt. Faith was not simply something she believed—it was woven into the fabric of who she was. It guided her words, her actions, and the way she cared for others. Through every joy and every challenge, she trusted God faithfully and found comfort in His promises. Janie was proud of her roots and the community that helped shape her. A graduate of one of the last graduating classes of East Bernstadt High School in 1946, she carried with her the values of hard work, perseverance, and dedication throughout her life. The friendships and memories from those years remained close to her heart. If the heart of her faith was steady, the heart of her home was her kitchen. She was a wonderful cook who found joy in preparing meals for those she loved. Family and friends knew that a seat at her table meant delicious food, warm conversation, and plenty of love. Her kitchen was a gathering place where memories were made, stories were shared, and everyone felt welcome. She also had a special place in her heart for animals. She loved all creatures, but cats held a particularly cherished place in her life. Over the years, they brought her comfort, companionship, and countless smiles. She delighted in their unique personalities and gentle presence, and they always seemed to know they were loved. Yet, above all else, nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by her family. Gatherings large and small, holiday celebrations, Sunday dinners, and everyday visits were the moments she treasured most. She loved deeply and wholeheartedly. She celebrated every milestone, offered wisdom when it was needed, and wrapped those she loved in unwavering support and prayer. She lived 97 years, but more importantly, Janie lived them well. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, resilience, laughter, and unconditional love. Her family will remember her not only for the meals she prepared or the stories she shared, but for the example she set—a life devoted to God, filled with compassion, and centered on family. While our hearts ache in her absence, we find peace in knowing she is now resting in the presence of the Lord she loved so dearly. The memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her. A life so beautifully lived can never truly be lost. Her love remains with us, her faith inspires us, and her memory will be cherished forever. A funeral service honoring Audrey (Jane) Sizemore will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Norm Brock and Ken Felty officiating. Interment will follow at Casteel Watkins Cemetery in East Bernstadt, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be Jamey Sizemore, Jake Sizemore, Eric Sizemore, Tyler Hamm, Darren Pennington and Kevin Joseph. Honorary pallbearers are Jonathan Smith, Eddie Smith and Ronnie Reigel. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
