Anna Lee Proffitt

Anna Lee Proffitt, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and woman of unwavering faith, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at St. Joseph Hospital in London, Kentucky at the age of 88. She was a source of love, kindness, and strength to all who knew her. Anna’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving wife to her husband, Donald Proffitt, and a dedicated mother to her four children: Sandra Robinson, Johnny Hoskins, Teresa Hoskins Walker & husband Will, both of London, KY, and Donnie E. Proffitt II & wife Kim of Frankfort, KY. She was also a proud grandmother to 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, cherishing every moment with them. Along with her daughter, Sandra, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Hoskins III and her parents, Chester Barker & Mae Mattingly Barker. Anna was one of twelve siblings and was preceded in death by all but one, her beloved sister, Nancy Hacker. She shared a deep love and strong family bond with her brothers and sisters throughout her life. Faith and Jesus were at the center of Anna’s life, and she passed this love for Christ on to her family. She led by example, showing kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith in all she did. Together with her husband, Anna owned and operated Proffitt’s Food Mart, where they worked together to serve their community with dedication and care. She found joy in the beauty of music and flowers, both of which reflected her gentle and compassionate spirit. Her faith and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. A funeral service honoring Anna Lee Proffitt will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Christian officiating. Entombment will follow at the Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 28, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour also at the funeral home. Pallbearers include: John Hoskins Ⅴ, Jonathon Evans, Seth McGraw, Cole Bales, Brayden Proffitt, Ian Jackson, Gavin Proffitt, Clay Bales. Honorary Pallbearers: Cash Bales, Maddox Proffitt, William Robinson, Luca Lopez, LJ Hoskins, Crew Hoskins, Phoenix Lake. Anna will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
