Alfred Wagers

Alfred Wagers, age 84 of London, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024. Born on August 12, 1939, Alfred was a retired truck driver for ID Inc. and Laurel Grocery. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. He leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years, Edith L. Wagers; six siblings, Doris Cates of Berea, KY, Patricia Chasteen & husband Roy of Berea, KY, Audrey Geary & husband Tom of Glasgow, KY, Rosie Herrell of Kingston, TN, Teddy Wagers of Berea, KY, Ottis Wagers & wife Edna of Berea, KY; plus many nieces, nephews and really good friends who were like brothers to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ottis & Della Gray Wagers; and by seven siblings, Anna Marshal, Lillie Kirkland, Mona Ladota, Sandy Wagers, Stafford Wagers, Clifford Wagers, Billy Wagers. Alfred was a man who never met a stranger. His warm heart and welcoming nature endeared him to all who crossed his path. He had a knack for making everyone feel like family, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him. A devoted husband, Alfred cherished his beloved wife with every fiber of his being. Their bond was a testament to the power of enduring love, and his loss leaves a void that can never be filled. In his free time, Alfred found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fan of wrestling and WLJC, finding solace and entertainment in these pastimes. His unique spirit and zest for life made him truly one of a kind. Alfred held a special place in the heart of his sister, Patricia. Their bond was unbreakable, and his presence will be deeply missed by her. Alfred Wagers touched the lives of many with his kindness, warmth, and genuine spirit. Though he may no longer be with us in body, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Funeral services for Alfred Wagers will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Bro. Gene Greene officiating. Burial will follow at A. R. Dyche Memorial Park in London, Kentucky. The pallbearers will be Roy Chasteen, Coby Chasteen, Zack Chasteen, Preston Chasteen, Lester Bullens and Jimmy Gregory. Serving as an honorary pallbearer is Johnny Marion. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 26, 2024 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral Hour also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
